You will be admitted to the hospital on the day before your surgery. Please bring along all of the documentation you have already received. The patient admissions department at Klinik Beau-Site will tell you your exact time of admission on the day before. Any bloodwork, X-rays or other tests will be performed in the afternoon on the day of admission. The nursing team will discuss this with you at the time of admission. We can also briefly show you the intensive care unit on request.
The attending surgery specialist will meet you in your room on the day of admission and answer any questions you may have.
Our hospital has a patient-centred nursing concept. In other words, during your hospital stay you will be assigned a specific nurse who is responsible for you and your nursing procedures. After the surgery, you will be introduced to your attending nurse.
You will already have met your nurse practitioner in person during the preoperative consultation. They will visit you on the day of admission to address any remaining questions or concerns you may have.
On the day of admission, the attending anaesthetist will visit you to discuss the anaesthesia you will be receiving.
During your entire hospital stay, both the surgical team as well as a doctor will be attending to you to handle any medical issues affecting your general condition.
On the day of admission you will learn some basic breathing exercises from our physiotherapists.
